...and I'm back!

I guess it's pretty pathetic that I am two posts into the blog...and I disappear for a month? Please tell me this is a common ailment amongst new bloggers?! At least I have a (OK, lame) excuse! I spent the last month at my parents' house in South Carolina and I was sans-computer. I couldn't even tolerate the thought of attempting to blog from my iPad - way too intimidating.

Anyways - despite not being able to spend Christmas with my favorite man this year (GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS), it was a really nice holiday with lots of family time and lots of food. Ryan spoiled the shit out of me, even from thousands and thousands of miles away :) Check out the goodies!

Does boy have taste, or does boy have taste?! While my FAVORITE gift would have been to have him home with me, I am so proud of him for protecting our country and sacrificing so that the rest of us don't have to.  Love you babe!

Wedding!

So - when Ryan and I got engaged over Labor Day Weekend, we immediately handled several of the "big" decisions RIGHT AWAY. We chose a date, booked a venue, booked a photographer ... and, I bought my dress! Since then, however, I have been the biggest wedding slacker.  I don't blame myself though (haha) - we had important things going on in our lives!

My brother got married in NYC, we traveled to West Point, to Boston, to VEGAS (first time for me) and spent Thanksgiving with my parents in South Carolina. It was a (very fun, exciting, and adventurous) whirlwind of a November - but I am relieved to be back home and back on track with the wedding planning! I am so excited to share some of the details of our big day as we make more decisions!

Our venue is a GORGEOUS modern art gallery in Savannah, GA called the Jepson Center for the Arts.

How cool - right? As soon as we found the venue, we knew we had to book it RIGHT away. I've been back and forth about whether or not I want to use a wedding planner, but tonight, I had a conference call with a potential wedding planner - who I LOVED - and think I want to book to help me plan the big day! I think using a wedding planner will be such a stress reliever.

More details to come!

Aloha!

Hello Everyone!

I am officially entering blogland. Woo hoo! I've been reading several various blogs over the last year or two and (at the behest of Ryan) have FINALLY decided to begin one of my own.  We became engaged over Labor Day Weekend in September of this year and are currently busy planning our wedding celebration in Savannah, GA in September 2012.

My GORGEOUS engagement ring!
I hope to use this blog to document life, organize my thoughts, track down delicious things to cook & eat & drink, keep my family and friends 'in-the-loop', learn to make better use of my camera, and to (of course) plan our wedding!
